Timeless advise - Look for Help

If you find yourself always wishing : Hurry up tomorrow !

Bad things happen...and we sometimes wonder:  Is this as good as it gets?  People hurt us, disappoint us, sometimes over and over again.  It gets tiring, and sometimes we feel hopeless, exhaustion overtakes us and we want to give up.  Sometimes our thoughts are dark, heavy and pessimistic.  Sometimes our brain goes on a downwards tailspin of negative thoughts.  We feel we have lost control, we feel: lost, alone and truly in trouble. What do we do?Are we to pretend nothing happened?  Are we to cheer up artificially and force ourselves to go on?

Well, no.  That would be like putting a band aid on a wound that needs to be cared for.  A wound that is deep and dirty and needs to be cleaned, stitched up and bandaged.  So what do we do?  How do we care for us when things have gotten out of control and we are in a world of hurt?

The first thing is to take things little by little.  Don't look far into the future.  Think about today.  Think about how to make today better and how to finish the day with a spirit of hope and not despair.  Little things help, here are some suggestions:

1)  Force yourself to get out of your house and go do some sort of physical activity.  Go for a walk with your dog or by yourself.  If you want and you if you can, invite a friend or family member you trust.  Enjoy the sun, or the rain, just try to enjoy your surroundings.  Breath in and out - fresh air.   Look at nature, enjoy the birds and the flowers, the trees and the sky.  Clear your mind, just be.  Feel nature, nature is wonderful, nature is healing.  Just be.  You can also go skiing, or go for a swim, it doesn't really matter what you chose to do.  Just get out of the house or car or wherever you are.

2) Force yourself to not think in what if's.  Do not make guesses.  Work with facts.  And once you have some facts, pray.  Pray about everything that is weighing on you.  Give it all to God.  He cares and He will not only heal you but change your life.  Be patient, be willing to wait for His perfect timing.  Be patient and be humble - we don't know everything.  Things can change quickly.  Have hope.  Ask for strength.

3)  Reach out to those people who love you, those people you know that can not only give you advise but can pray for you.  Ask for company, ask for prayers, ask for advise - Ask and you will receive!  Do not stay isolated. don't chose to be alone, force yourself to seek out good people.  I understand there are not a lot of those, but you know what ?  There's enough of them out there.  Ask God to lead you to the people in your life who care for you, for those who you can trust.

4.  I would advise you to not be idle under any circumstances.  So yes, find something to do.  Maybe do the dishes, clean your closet, vacuum and tidy the house, wash your car, mow the lawn, cook something yummy etc; you get the point.  An idle person sinks into sadness, a busy person stays afloat.  Do not be idle, I can not stress it enough.

If you do these things tomorrow will hurry and come.  Each day is a new beginning, and each day brings hope.  And remember there is always a new tomorrow.  Hold on tight, hang in there, and always know you can contact me !
